MANY OF US HAVE A COMPLICATED RELATIONSHIP WITH MONEY.

We love it or we hate it. Some of us glorify it, we feel like if only we had more of it, then everything would be so much better. We are led to believe it is the secret to our happiness, yet we can never get there, we never have enough and are stuck in a mindset of scarcity. For others, money is something dirty, something they don’t want to think about let alone talk about. As a result, they tend to stay away from taking ownership of their financial situation. On top of this complicated emotional piece, many of us are intimidated by all the jargon that we were never taught, making us feel incompetent or “less than”.

Where do these beliefs come from? Are they truly ours? Do they reflect our current beliefs and our current reality? What if money was simply a tool – a way to exchange what I offer (my work, my skills, my passion) for something you offer that I would like (a good meal, a ride to the airport, a massage)? Can we remove the emotional charge from its functionality?

And how much do we truly need? What is “enough”? At this very moment – do you have what you need? How about tomorrow? The end of the year? What does enough feel like and how is need different from want?

Stepping away from money for a moment – what are your aspirations for your future? What are things that really matter to you in the short term, medium term, and long term? How and where do you picture yourself in 5/10/20 years? What/who are you surrounded by? What are the things that REALLY will matter to you then? How do you get there? What do you truly need? What role does money play in these aspirations?

WHEN YOU ENGAGE IN FINANCIAL THERAPY WITH ME, I HELP YOU free yourself from limiting beliefs.

As we investigate core beliefs and their origins, we start understanding limiting beliefs and behavioral patterns. Becoming aware of those and reflecting on them gives us the chance to re-evaluate what serves you in your current situation and what doesn’t. From that point of understanding and alignment, we will look at your goals and aspirations – from life-long legacy type goals and aspirations to the nitty-gritty day-to-day, let’s look at it with candor and compassion.

Armed with that information, I will work with you to analyze your current financial picture so we can both understand how you are doing versus your goals and what changes you may want to make, from adjusting spending and saving habits, to optimizing your investment portfolio, I am here to guide you and help you stay on track. Working with me will allow you to not only understand but own your financial future and move from a mindset of scarcity to an embodiment of abundance.

I offer a free 20-minute initial call so we can both assess if we would like to work together.

  • I worked with Iris on the heels of a huge period of transition in my life - a divorce

She was, and continues to be, an invaluable and trusted advisor in helping me re-establish a holistic financial roadmap. She's more than a financial advisor. She looks at the whole person and takes into account quality of life, the nuances of life post-divorce (with children), plus aging parents, and all the other intricacies of modern life. She does so with support and encouragement, and you leave her sessions feeling like it's all possible. I highly recommend working with Iris.

  • Working with Iris made the often anxiety provoking task of looking at my finances not only feel less overwhelming, but actually interesting and fun.

Iris left me feeling empowered, educated, and interested in my financial portfolio in a way that I never have before. Since working with her, I have a much greater sense of agency and empowerment that will serve me for years to come. Her warmth and encouragement is something I have never encountered before in a financial advisor. I highly recommend working with Iris!

She not only shares her financial knowledge - but also her humanity in a deep way that makes me more aware of my own barriers to achieving financial freedom and health.

  • As a self employed independent contractor with no 401k or retirement plan, I reached out to Iris for guidance.

At 44, I felt a little ashamed not to have approached this sooner. Iris assured me that it was better late than never to discuss my finances. I felt supported speaking with someone that I align with and not just a "financial planner". It was helpful to start the process off by envisioning how I feel about money and how I picture my life in retirement. Being that our life after work encompasses more than money, it was nice to visualize what is most important to me and how best to plan ahead for that future vision. Iris guided me with suggestions on what retirement vehicle would work best for me as an independent contractor and I am excited to embark on investing in myself.
